Haymon became a charter member of Fire and Ice Ski Club, San Jose, CA in 1990. He fell in love with skiing and later went on to hold various positions of leadership including President of Fire & Ice Ski Club, and Director and Vice President of the Western Region. He also held the position of NBS National President for 4 years. Haymon was a skiing president, and he loved his NBS family as much as he loved attending the Summit. For him the Summit was a family reunion. He was always concerned
about technique and he looked good when he took to the mountain on skis – you could spot him miles away with his skis close together, carving perfect parallel turns.
His first summit was in Vail, CO in 1993, after which he missed only one Summit in 27 years. At the most recent Summit in Sun Valley, Idaho, Haymon skied 4 consecutive days, the rest of the time he spent
“politik’ing”, which was his nature. He always made it a point to lend an ear, and engage and talk to everyone he came into contact with. He was the problem solver, and many sought counsel with him. Under his tenure he would make sweeping changes designed to set the NBS on a course for success into the next decade.
He leaves to mourn his passing a host of loving family and friends.
